There is option how Arachne should treat virtual screens. I believe I
named
them
Nice ... always generate top of scren screen, but use novirtual
page down
if end of screen is reached
Automatic ... only if page fits virt. screen, generate it. Otherwise,
BMP output
will be impossible and nonvirtual scrolling will be used
Smart ... always re-create virtual screen, even when scrolling out
of
existing virtual screen limits.
Go to Options | Preferences to set these...
No option is perfect for printing throurgh BMP format, and there is no
easy
way to overcome it. Well, virtual screen size can be set even bigger
than 5000
pixels, manualy in ARACHNE.CFG, but I never really tested that option.
It should
work until your reach MAXINT (32768, or so), and maybe more, because I
defined it
as long (probably ;-)
Good news for BMP-printing-users are that autor of Pixel32 contributed
small
BMP print utility for Arachne, which should support wide variety of
contemporary printers (laser, or so). But only perfect printing option
for future will be full PostScript output....better than what Arachne
offers now...
