   Thanks for the clue, Steven. I'll try that. But what does it do,
exactly? I've looked in my MS-DOS V5.00 manual and there's a list of all
the commands that one can put in config.sys (on page 250); no mantion of
NUMHANDLES, though. Was this an addition to later versions, perhaps? If
so, would it work with V5.00?
