>Hi Neil,
>I think that's the point. Maybe you have the 'ComPortGap'-problem.

I'm pretty familiar with DOS , but how does a gap in the numbering sceme
cause a problem?
Probably need to contact 'alt.dos.old.clunkers' or something?

>IRQ7 is normaly reserved for the lpt-port.

Mine is set to irq5 (jumpered) works ok...no conflict here...

>The IRQ for COM3 is 4. (Try to jumper your modem this way)

Modem is pnp so no problem re-configuring - Will give it a go...

>Have you COM1 AND COM2 in use? (Check with M$ msd.exe).

I disabled Com2 by jumper, so there's a 'gap'. However, the modem is
definitely connecting & returning PPP packets, so I figure one program
(minicom) has no problem with the 'gap' wheras EPPPD chokes somewhere.

>Try COM1/IRQ4/0x3F8 or COM2/IRQ3/0x2F8 for the modem.
