Sounds to me as if you don't have a "temp" directory set.
Be sure that you have a line something like this in your autoexec.bat
set temp=c:\temp
Also be sure that the directory it names *does* exist.
If you're using DR-Opendos, place this line just after the one which
"sets" the temp directory.
if not direxist %temp% md %temp%
Sorry, I don't know the correct syntax to do this in MS-dos.
That *should* fix your problem.
BTW, one particular "do not do this" that you should remember......
set temp=c:\
(very BAD idea);-(
