The problem the error message tells about isn't fixed by the error
message -- and they certainly don't need to be saved.

If you're asking where to put error messages [without the screens] what
about an ERR_LOG file?  If that worked, we wouldn't have to write down
messages by hand ... the ERR_LOG file should have the info.
