Hmmm. The URL I gave was to demonstrate that Arachne wasn't too
compliant over color names. But you're using the hex code, at
which she is more accurate than Windoze browsers on 256 color
displays, so it's not that sort of glitch.

Is a saved downloaded page displayed OK?  Other pages at the
linked-to site (below) have a green background with white text.

You are no doubt aware that some page designers don't take into
account those visiting with 'images off', who won't be able to
read white text on a white background, where some deep blue swirl
pattern was intended. All they had to do was set e.g. bgcolor="#000066"
