Hi all Linux experts,
I can't get Arachne for Linux to run. Since some weeks I've SuSE Linux 6.3
installed and running.
System: 486DX4 100Mhz, 32 MB Ram, TSENG ET4000 graphicadapter
Linux login: root
1. If I want to start arachne in the arachne-162a -dir, I type in 'arachne',
Linux answers something like:
bash: unknown command or filename (or similar)
'ls -l arachne' gives me:
-rwsrwxrwx
I've tried:
'chmod 777 arachne'
and
'chmod u+s arachne'
but same result.
2. If I start arachne with midnightcommander I get following message:
svgalib: Illegal chipset setting: Driver for ET4000 is NOT compiled in
Illegal chipset setting: chipset ET4000
and get a blank screen. ESC brings me to mc (in graphicmode) with scrambled
screen. All I can do is INIT 6.
How can I configure svgalib?? What have I to do after changing (s)vgalib.conf??
Is there anybody out there, who can give me some tips??
