Hi to you all and thanks to Clarence,

Clarence suggested *to have JPEG-files viewable with Arachne* to change
mime.cfg

image/jpeg JPG>BMP|$edjpeg32.exe $j $1 $2
to ,, ,,DJPEG.exe ,, ,, ,,

and to have DJPEG.exe instead of DJPEG32.exe in the path.
I did have to go to the attic to search for my old 286 machine for the
DJPEG.EXE in Arachne 1.48

Well JPEG-viewing is OK now... but how should a newbie know if his/her
system is 32 or 16 bit and that you have to know this to be able to view
jpg files?
Luckyly I did not delete the old 1.48 version...

This should have been the installed default (IMHO)

I also switched off the external protocols
                ;external/pop3
                ;external/smpt
This too has to be default; it's quite anoying to be asked
"Insert your mail floppy disk" ... not knowing what is ment
Inserting just 'a' floppy results in an endless: abort, retry ....

Anyway: another step forward in mastering Arachne

There is another thing I want to solve;
If I click on "Your Computer" or "\\" in the directory Arachne colapses.
Why ???
