Have you tried this?
On the "TCP/IP Setup" page,
Check the box that says "Special base address" and then type in the
adrress for the Comport you are using.
1..0x2f8, 2..0x2f8, 3..0x3e8, 4..0x2e8
The problem you might be having is the fact that epppd *must* know the
*correct* port address.
Miniterm dials and connects just fine because it does *not* look for the
base port address. (only the com port number matters)
Another problem we've found with epppd is that it can't handle a "hole"
in the com ports.
(1 is used [let's say for the mouse], 2 is not used, modem on 3 or 4)
(1 is used, 2 is used, 3 is not used, modem on 4)
That "hole" at com2 or com3 causes the problem with epppd.exe
If you have the modem set to use com3 and you don't have
some other device on com2.... change the modem to com2
If you have the modem on com4 *and* you don't have some other devices
using *both* com2 and com3... change the modem to the *first* open port.
One more posibility is that you might have the same problem as myself
and several others...... Your BIOS might be misreporting the base port
address of your modem.
(several manufacture's and versions of BIOS chips are defective in this
respect)
Here's the "fix" for this problem.
Go here, http://www.angelfire.com/id/glenndoom/index.html
Get comports.zip (unzip it)<g>, and place this line in your autoexec.bat
(or run it from the command line if you prefer)
--new line for autoexec.bat---
comports.com
---end new line---
Comports.com is a 46byte com file. (that's right... only 46bytes)
But, it corrects those "wrong addresses" in your BIOS reporting table.

If you have tried all of the above and you still can't get epppd to
work.... I'm stumped. :-)
