I hope someone has a good answer for you. I too have had a similar
problem
connecting. The ascii characters are the ISP trying to connect through
PPP
(point to point protocol) to your machine. Ideally, the ppp program on
your
machine (epppd.exe) should connect up with the ISP's ppp program, install
a driver in memory somewhere and drop you back to the browser good to go.
If you're getting the ASCII stuff, but still can't connect, then you're
in the
same boat with me. I assume you have tried things like F7 to get out of
terminal mode?
Hopefully someone will have some good advice for us.
