Thanks all for the fast replies, I alredy knew the F7 key (or alt-P), there's a
line mentioning it during dial-up. However, after pressing F7 there's nothing...

I tried another ISP of which I knew the gateway's IP address ( in windoze it's
assigned automatically, so I had forgotten all about it), and what do you know...
after some fiddling around with auto-login, login script etc. it works!
