That wat the kick-in-memory-chip that I needed.
I was trying to think what I am not doing that others *are*.
(or vice-versa)
That's it.... I always clean-out my cache.
I'll now start browsing (with images on), and I'll allow the cache to
keep growing.
The only thing that makes sence to me is that Arachne might not be doing
the "file close" correctly when files are automatically deleted from the
cache.
I'll test this theory and get back to this eMail in few minutes.

You said that your temp dir is on RamDisk.
What size is the RamDisk?
Do you have Cache2Temp Yes ?
My next test will be to see if that RamDisk might be getting full and
that when this happens, Arachne then tries to use HDD instead.
