Absolutely!
Frequently I get distracted and forget to dial before sending mail
or posting form data :-] MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, while using A162, the
modem would squak normally only to be followed by the "CHAP
authentication failed" mess, and I would loose the mail or form entry.
The second try, whether after the countdown or by hotkey, would
always succeed.
The failure rate for A164 seems to be around 20%--- a considerable
improvement :-}
I guess that this most likely indicates better handling of my quirky
hardware.
