>And I have blind friends who have to listen to their computer. Imagine
them trying to make sense out of the Arachne graphics home page. They
are just one good reason why I offer a text-only alternative to my main
page, graphics free newsletter html page, and archives as pure text
files.

I want to *use* the internet, not watch the pretty pictures. <G>

If a wolf could read English, what would he/she say about the spelling on the
subject line?

Two Web sites have useful info on making Web sites accessible. I haven't been
to http://www.packardbell.com, but if it is all Javascript & Shockwave as
described, Packard-Bell would flunk. Even with unlimited money to spend on
computer hardware and software, blind people can't enjoy the wonderful images;
they need plain text: something many webmasters no doubt don't think about. As
for me, I prefer information over glitz, remember the many times when all the
fancy images made WWW = World Wide Wait, sometimes 20 or 30 minutes for one Web
page. As for five frames on one page, I had that with Arachne but forget the
URL, remember it was a long wait. Frames seem to slow things down.
