Hello Fellow Arachnids:
My SMTP server at my ISP was down for most of the day. During the wee
small hours of the morning they conducted some kind of system "upgrade".
Their SMTP server was not working for a considerable time after that.
Everything now appears to have been restored to "normal".
During the period when the SMTP server was down, I attempted to send some
messages out of my web-based email addresses at http://www.telebot.com
and http://www.subdimension.com.
I found that I could not send messages out of either of those two
web-sites. Apparently, Telebot and Subdimension depend on a functioning
SMTP server at one's own ISP.
I was successful in sending messages out of my web-based email address at
http://www.valise.com.
This is very good to know: If your SMTP server is down, you can still send
mail if you have a web-based email account at http://www.valise.com. This
site works with Arachne, but you must turn frames off. Also it works with
Bobcat, version E08, but you will need to resort to some clever
work-arounds.
All the best,
Sam Heywood
