You can use Arachne to send mail with smtp:// URL.  I've done it.  Then you can 
use other software to receive POP3 mail.  I never tried to run Insight without
Arachne.

Are you sure you have x_mailn.exe set up correctly?  Are you sure you have the
correct special WATTCP.CFG required by UKA_PPP?  Do you have UKA_PPP 1.7x1 or
1.7x2?  I downloaded but haven't yet set up UKA_PPP 1.7x2.

As for SMTPOP12, it seemed to be sending, but never reached the destination,
apparently because of a nonstandard glue header format.
