Also WinNT and Linux has a memory manager, which switch into protected mode.
The other thing is, that emm386 (Dr-DOS) switches into Virutal V86 mode,
which
provides all 16-bit funktions(interrupts), but is 32-bit. So, you can say
32-bit OS.
