from Budd:
I had the same results from home with both Internet Explorer
version 3.03 and Opera v.3.62. I tried the URL's from the
college lab with IE v.5.? and NS v.4.5 (or higher) and they
worked. I have not looked at the HTML or JavaScript to see
why this occured. What browser are you using?
BTW, since this is Arachne mailing list.... I use Arachne v.1.65
for most of my web surfing! I only use the others when I
am working on something in Windows or need JavaScript
etc....
(end of quote)
I was using OS/2 port of Lynx, the latest and last (2.8.1dev13).
Now according to Glenn McCorkle, reports of Freewwweb's death may be
exaggerated? Or is it another service with the same phone number? I dialed
Freewwweb a few weeks ago from DOS, seemed to get a response but couldn't make
PPP connection. Just a few nights ago, dialing from OS/2, I seemed to connect
but couldn't access anything on the Internet. That was after connecting to
Bluegrass Net and not being able to access anything on the Internet. After
that, I went to OS/2 Warp 4 VDM and connected successfully with DOSPPPD, and
ran SMTP and POP3 successfully with NetMail 2.12, and news with UKA_PPP 1.7x2,
successfully.
