You are not alone!

Monday I fired up Arachne (1.48) on my office machine, having last used it
successfully on Saturday. I got an error message, TCP/IP error (or
something), Arachne re-dialing, PPP not found, re-dialing, same message, etc,
etc. Arachne locks up and 3-finger salute is necessary. Performance is
repeated. Replaced ARACHNE.CFG with a back-up .CFG that I had and I finally
got Arachne to run again.

To be sure, there are gremlins in the works!!!

Since I got the reinstall of 1.68 to run will all the messages
transferred over [first time I transferred them over it locked up, so I
started transferring in batches of 20, then 2, in order to find a
"guilty e-mail." I never found a guilty e-mal and got well past the
newest messages so simply transferred the rest of them over and had no
problem.

I finished mail today on the reinstall of 1.68 and decided to start
"debugging" this installation of 1.68.

I changed directory names [easiest way to keep files from one install
from writing/reading from another install since I always use full paths]
and made this install Arachne again and started it up. Hit I for inbox
and there the inbox is on the screen! I hit R and said to myself "this
is where it will lock up." It didn't lock up.

Now I'll never be able to figure out why it went bad, and I don't know
WHY it works now!!

Nothing on the system has been changed.

It wasn't a matter of screwed up memory or whatever, because
when I finally gave up on this install I had rebooted at least 15-20
times.

I changed nothing in this installation, didn't rename or move a single
file, only read and copied a few things.

Yet the inbox here is working.

So I'll ask again:

IS SOMEBODY PUTTING PINS INTO A VOODOO DOLL OF MY COMPUTER!!???
