Here we go, another week gone by and it's Christmas Eve already. On
the Arachne scene, still got 169 running fine, except when I try to
do absolutely anything with the .asf stuff. I tried Chris' suggestion
of taking out the "reload" from the script, all it does now is return
the xswap error message as happening at line 997 instead of line
1200+ duhhh!

President Bore was caught "gush"ing away about the honour of becoming
Pressy, at least I think so. Here in Scotland we've had the media
circus of Maradonna marrying the Gritchie, or was it Madonna and G.
Ritchie?

Ella and I went to our Grandchildren's school to see the Nativity
play (for those in non-christian countries, it's normal to have the
Christmas story presented by the children at Primary school level, 5
to 10 year olds). Fun! Best bit was when Joseph enquired at the Inn
about accomodation for him and Mary. The Innkeeper's answer (aged 6)
should have been:-

We have no room at the Inn, but you may use the stable

This came out on stage as:-

We have no room at the Inn, but you may use the stable. My dad says
you should have e-mailed first!

Collapse of everyone in the hall in fits of laughter!

Twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the house. . . .

Some of you will know that I am an active caravanner here in the UK.
I am subscribed to a list covering this subject, and one of our long
time listees has just lost his wife in a sudden three day illness.

The outpouring of support for him in his time of trouble is reflected
on every list I subscribe to. Here I think automatically of L.D's
posts and those from "Clarence", and many, many others as the World
Wide Web draws us ever closer together.

I am surrounded by "Friends I've never met (yet)!" on the various
lists I am subscribed to. To all those friends, of whatever religious
persuasion or none, may your God go with you. Take care of yourself
and your families, and may the next year be better for you than last
year was.

With our regards, and best wishes

Mel and Ella (she who must be obeyed!)
