Harry, your dialer section appears to be configured for Terminal mode so
that's likely why you aren't getting any recognition of the PPP login.
You need to let Arachne take care of the login by going directly to PPP.
Please change the dialer section to the following state:
[dialer]
DialPage file:ppp_init.htm
Dialer @MINITERM.EXE>PPP.LOG
TerminalWindow @MINITERM.EXE
UseTerminal No
Port 2
Irq 3
Base 0x2f8
Mode 8N1
Speed 38400
InitString ATZ
DialString ATDT
PhoneNumber 296-3000
Autologin No
WaitFor1

WaitFor2
Response2
WaitFor3

PPPusername harry.murphy
PPPpassword rasberries<g>
It should work right away. It works for me when using PPP login.
Don't forget about the ";Fixed IP" line as pointed out by Bob Engle.
