Roger,
You missed the point: The reason to use the additional Program Editor from
wp4.2 is that it is a seperate ascii editor, that doesn't take half the
time required to startup wp5.1. WP4.2 cannot edit macro's by itself, but
came with a seperate macro editor. All this was integrated in wp5.1.
PE.exe automatically saves plain ascii, and supports all the macro
functions required for cleaning up a file for read.exe (That means: unwrap
the lines, rewrap them after each ".", cut out all headers and symbols that
read.exe would pronounce other than words -a ">" is pronounced "greater
than"-, save the result as read.txt and exit to the batch that then
continues to put read.txt through read.exe after prompting with choice.com
wether or not to re-edit, delete read.txt, quit or continue)
To activate this procedure, I press "p" on a message in arachne, and added
a link in print.ah that calls the batch to do the rest.
The only problems using editv for this purpose, are that it has a limit to
the message length and that I don't know how to make it search for a <CR
LF>, because pressing enter makes it execute. Searching and replacing <CR
LF> is such a useful feature that I guess there should be a way to enter it
with some alt combination, but I don't know how.
Anyone?
