The aforementioned web page was a message archive. The particular message
that I referred to in my post was one having an attached UUENCODED file. In
this case UUENCODE was indeed used for email. I use UUDECODE 98 v.56 by
Richard Marks, and yes, I used the same UUDECODE in each case. (BTW, I have
heard that some versions of UUENCODE/UUDECODE are better than others. I don't
know which versions are best.)

BTW, this null packet driver has just recently become available at
http://www.ncf.ca/ncf/pda/computers/dos/net. Look for NULLPKT.ZIP. Various
other DOS packet drivers may be found at the same site.

The one I am referring to is the same as the one that comes included with the
DOSLYNX 386 package, NULLPKT.COM

When downloading with Arachne, the user has the option of saving the file in
any directory and under any name he chooses to give to it. Same as with
DOSLYNX 386.

All the best,
