Michael said the next Linux Arachne would be 1.71 or 1.72, but
I can't remember which.

Which Netscape? If you're talking a 4.x version, you will do a
lot of thumb-twiddling.

  I used to run Netscape 3.01 + X + fvwm2 on 8MB RAM. It hit swap
a LOT, so did crawl, but it was usable. Once I upgraded to 16MB
of RAM, it flew! If you want to save a few more KB, you might try
twm. It doesn't have as many features as the fvwm's, but is still
quite functional. I don't have fvwm installed right now so I can't
check its size, but twm is 129,744 bytes compared to 185,392 for
fvwm2. Overall, I don't think that 60K is going to make a big
difference in this situation.

BTW...
Netscape 3.04 = 4,521,192 (includes browser, mail & news)
Netscape 4.76 = 7,690,340 (navigator only)

You don't need Enlightenment to use ggi.
These are the only listed requirements to run ggi:

/bin/sh
ld-linux.so.2
libX11.so.6
libc.so.6
libdl.so.2
libgg.so.0
libggi.so.2
libgii.so.0
libm.so.6
libXext.so.6
libggimisc.so.2
libncurses.so.4

I don't know about image viewing in Lynx, but off-hand, I can
only think of one decent svgalib graphics viewer.... zgv...
226,943 bytes.
