There is no program named RDEV.EXE in my distribution. Here is the file
list:

BASLINUX.GZ
BOOT.BAT
BOOTBAT.TXT
LOADLIN.EXE
MAKE_FD.ZIP
README.TXT
ZIMAGE

Here is BOOT.BAT, the program that I ran when my computer locked up upon
encountering the error message:

loadlin zimage root=/dev/ram rw initrd=baslinux.gz

I don't understand it. This is the first time I have ever tried to run
any distribution of LINUX. So I know nothing about how to run LINUX.
I am just trying to learn about it.

Yes it did. Upon encountering the error message my computer would not
respond to any keyboard inputs other than CTRL-ALT-DELETE. I could not
terminate the batch processing simply by pressing CTRL-C.

Of course it was perfectly obvious to me that it can't continue booting.
This I easily inferred from the message.

Well, I don't know how to do that.

OK, then it should be good for me. This *was* my first step and I faltered.
