Ricsi and Clarence,
Thanks for the tips. I'll try them. It's been a couple of years since
I tried changing anything. I'll admit to not understanding files,
stacks or buffers. My config.sys evolved from advice here on the list
some time ago and much of it was set up by memmaker.
Smartdrv is not in my autoexec.bat because of a book I read and it
works this way. I used 4 megs for the cache because of the
reccomendation in the MS documenation.
But I'm going to try all these changes and see what happens.
Where would I get Norton Speedisk and speedcheck.bat?
What's highscan?
Thanks for your help. We'll see what happens. My autoexec.bat is
attached.
Anybody else care to chime in? Additional opinion would also be
appreciated.
