I think this COULD be circumstantial evidence.
Skipping the "F2" step is what happens if the file type is set wrong
at the source. If the .ZIPs are labeled as Text/Plain, Arachne doesn't
have much choice unless you modify mime.cfg to ignore Text/Plain and
pop-up the "F2" screen.
This was the purpose of "MIMESWAP".
You certainly wouldn't want her to be unable to process REAL Text/Plain
so you have an ALTERNATE mime.cfg that you load with a hotkey ONLY when
you get these dumb problems.
I believe the proper action is to comment out Text/Plain in alternate
mime.cfg. You can make a whole slew of changes to force Arachne to take
alternate (unconventional) action on any concievable filetype.
I'm REALLY going to have to remember to plead with Michael for extension
priority over filetype so these problems go away. (mostly)
