Thomas,

you are probably used to this way: If you leave Arachne with ESC
before hanging up, the packet driver stays resident. When you restart
Arachne with command line parameter -r, you have immediate access to
the web again.

I prefer to use Arachne from the task switching environment of
MS-dosshell. In case I have to do other jobs, but know that I shall
return in one or two minutes, then I leave Arachne with ESC, but do
not hang up the phone. As every call of Arachne includes command
line parameter -r I even can return to the last URL. But every time
I run Arachne I have to do a new login (either automatically or
after ALT D). The packet driver loads after authentication, but
dialling is not necessary. This means a delay of 5-10 seconds, but it
may be less expensive than starting a new phone call.

After the warm boot, the computer behaves completely the same way.
Telephone line is not interrupted, but the packetdriver has to load
again.
