I meet similar problems while starting Arachne from dosshell. See
Arachne documentation ("How to...", section: "run Arachne with
dosshell")
Space for environment variables must obviously allocated on the
command line. Norton Commander, Xtree and others emulate a
command line, but it is not a commandline. Try from Xtree
the command:
set lsppp=XXXXX
then type:
set
Does your computer remember what you have just told him?
