L.D. and list,
as far as software is concerned I am not an advocate of celibacy,
but my approach is a consequently polygamic one. That is why I use
Pegasus Mail that defines mail folders of a certain type ONLY in
"funny" directories. Arachne, however, works as a gateway for mail
transport. So I have set the Arachne mail directory to P:\XXXX.MAI.
I have never had any problem with this. After downloading I have a
first look at incoming mails, check whether there are any MB
monsters. Then I start Pegasus to get the mail sorted. Only now when
I set the mail directory to p:\ and tried to browse the
subdirectories with .MAI extension I have noticed that
Arachne/Insight cannot find message files there.

This is probably not the only problem Arachne has with directories.
Fixing it should have a high priority as DOS compatibility is
involved. On the other hand it is a really hard job to write
software for Arachne users who have "funny" directories and generally
tend to do "funny" things with their computers. Poor Michael!
