I have worked with many other DOS programs that get confused when
you are trying to do something with files in a directory having a
funny name. This kind of problem is not unique to Arachne. I know
it is perfectly legal within DOS to give funny names with extensions
to directories, but I do not name my directories funny because I know
that some programs get confused in trying to determine whether you are
referring to a file within the parent directory or whether you are
indicating a different subdirectory. Just don't name your directories
funny and you won't have this problem. You can fix it simply by using
RENDIR and by avoiding the use of funny directory names. Many DOS
programs are not written perfectly enough to deal with such a crazy
situation.
