ok ... here is some confusion on your site.

*YOUR* IP is 10.x.x.x which is a class a internal IP. (eg it's *NOT*
routable through the net.)
It is than masqueraded by a server with the IP 212.x.x.x.
So for the outside it looks as if your IP would be 212.x.x.x.

_OUCH_ that hurts ... thanx god that my cable company gives out *REAL* IPs!

The problem with masquerading is, that your computer can't be reached from
outside.
This is no problem if you only surf. But if you want to set up servers that
hurts.

PS: look at the headers of my mail.
Received: from athlon.ricsi.priv.at (athlon.ricsi.priv.at [192.168.0.2])
    by ricsi.priv.at (8.11.0/8.8.7) with SMTP id f3P83Wc03899

it's the same here. 192.158.x.x is an internal class C net. (compareable to
your 10.x.x.x)
The good thing is that the gateway has a REAL IP, and therfor can be
reached from the internet.

LB> If you are dialing up, you don't *have* a Local IP!
If you are connected to the internet, than you have an IP !!!!
And there is no distinction between 'local' and 'Internet' IP.
