Nope, AOL does not "own" it.
What's happening is that ftp://ftp.simtel.net:21/pub/simtelnet/
automatically redirects us to one of the mirrors.

Have a look at these.
(the "mirror-of-the-moment" is cdrom.com)

The "auto-redirect last evening took me to 3 different universities.
(none of those worked either)

The only one that was working (and only for a few min), was the AOL mirror.

I'll try again later and include the results if the redirct takes me to
a different mirror.
