Gabro is the next on my download list. After that I'll get cdrom.com's
idsoftware directory, not that I ever actually play any games (well almost
never anyway) but I think I should get it. The problem is that there are
more Doom levels comming out each week than I can play even if I spent a
few hours a week ;-)
Well I've actually started on Garbo once from home on modem (ouch!) and
idsoftware twice, once from home and once from university (300K+ is a much
better speed if you ever plan to mirror something large).

Actually I've never understood how they managed to get any money in the
first place. I'm amazed that so many people bought CDs from them, obviously
it was enough. If any of us set something else up how is that person (or
those persons) going to pay for it?

I would suggest the FTP servers, but Arachne (ahem...) isn't all that good
on handling FTP, one of these days (I've said that for more than a year now
haven't I?) I might get around to fixing the bugs in the directory listing.
However it should work fine on most FTPs, including the Simtel mirrors.
