Yes, I have "Classic Compuserve" and use it to access the internet using 
Arachne.  The parity and stop bits (7N1), AFAICT, are particular to 
Compuserve, not necessarily to Compuserve Classic.  If someone on the list is 
using Arachne thru Compuserve 2000, or Compuserve 4.XXX or greater, please 
chime in and let us know.  (If you need the script to access the Internet 
thru Compuserve as a gateway, let me know.)
