I have, on my HDD somewhere, a cute little program written by a software
developer I once worked with. That cute little program can bet set up
in a shell account and it can then create a "mailing list" which takes
all incoming mail and shoots it out to everyone on the list. Sorry...
don't think it can "digest" the way it is set up. HOWEVER, it runs so
"in the background" that my friend's ISP was unaware it even existed,
let alone was using their servers, for a couple of years!
Although I have the shell account, and have the code [source, to be
compiled on server where it will run IIRC], I can't run the mailing list
because my ISP has put a block on "spamming" and SMTP server stops
sending after 35 RECPT TO ...
I know he could probably modify it so that it would "digest" and so that
it split mailing lists up, etc. But he's kinda in a bind right now,
having his Canadian employer sucked up and consolidated by a USA major
corp, and with a toddler plus a set up twins all under the age of 4 yrs,
plus a wife, a dog, and a home to take care of. So I wouldn't want to
approach him on that until/unless there was a handle on the rest of the
BIG problem.
