Dear List:
Does anyone know how to enable cookie support in Lynx. Classically,
I think Lynx was not designed with the idea of using cookies, but
there is an option for using them. The Doslynx version 0.7 from
Doug Kauffman seemed to come with it about six months or a year ago, but
now the standard download does not have it. When I had it installed
before the hard disk crash, it had cookie support. It said you could
enable some cookies, or choose which to accept, or accept all of them.
Any help from someone who knows more about Lynx would be good and help
clear up my mail problem.
Yours,
Thomas Tabler

Dear List:
Just a quick update. Further work on Lynx got it functioning with
cookie support that is toggled. Sam H. on List is correct, however,
new web page design makes Lynx unusable for even Earthlink and Juno,
probably others too. Thanks for the suggestions on getting on the
mailing list and other things in the most recent edition of the
Digest. Lynx with cookie support is some help for system problems,
outages, and maybe techsupport, but doesn't resolve any mail problems.
I am sorry, I just don't have time to look into a different computer
or Internet device at this time, it seems uneconomical. My best bet,
I think, is to rely on a friend's computer for tech issues, or see
my brother-in-law in Seattle about Operamail. He hasn't registered
yet and he uses the Win 9x Opera 5. Webmail is great for those who
think they need it a lot and have the equipment and money.
Yours,
Thomas/"tomstfor"
