You can configure PictView quite easily, and set a maximum graphic
mode that your monitor CAN handle, among a heap of other settings.
PictView is my graphic viewer of choice for most occasions, except for
Arachne.
BTW: I find LXPIC really IS very fast, but gives a low quality picture
on my VGA monitor.
On another matter:
For those irritated by the QV shareware screen and pause when playing
MP3 files in Arachne, I have found MSP (freeware) to be a less intrusive
plug-in for Arachne - where the MP3 files are already on my hard disk.
in MIME.CFG:
file/.MP3 |call playmp3.bat $1
where PLAYMP3.BAT (in main Arachne directory) is three lines:
d:\msp\msp.exe -a %1 -x >nul
c:
cd\arachne
just edit to suit.
The Arachne screen is left untouched while the MP3 is played (any key
to cancel), and screen control returns at the end of the file, without
any pause.
