Yes.  In order to keep BasicLinux small enough to fit
into a 4meg ramdrive, I'm using libc5 and a 2.0 kernel.

Yes, BasicLinux is based on Slackware 3.5.

You can easily substitute a SCSI kernel for 
the (zimage) kernel that comes with BasicLinux.  
Slackware 3.5 has lots of pre-compiled kernels 
in the /kernels directory.  Any of them should 
work with BasicLinux.

Yes, you can add modules with 'insmod'.  Any of the 
modules in the /modules directory at the Slackware 3.5 
site can be used.
