Your dilemma got me curious, so I tried to extract a .cab file using
expand.exe and got an error message that the file was already extracted. I
then did a search on file extensions on the web and found that .cab files are
compressed M$ files. Since there *must* be a way to uncompress them, I did
another search and found:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q129/6/05.asp
which says that the file really used to extract .cab files is EXT.EXE.
Hope this *really* helps.
