My name is also associated with some private emails that Oscar is
sending out along with his virus attachments. He has nothing against
anyone whose statements the virus program is quoting. The virus will
select some text at random from some email message he has received
and also it will find an email addresses from among his emails and
send a message to somebody and add some text saying something like
"take a look at the attachment". It is quite obvious that Oscar
doesn't even know about the problem with his computer.
BTW, I am acquainted with the father of a seventeen year old girl
whose computer was infected with the Magistr virus. The virus was
quoting portions of private messages from all of her boyfriends and
sending them out to almost everybody's email address in the computer.
I received from the girl one of these messages with the virus attached.
I talked to the girl's father about his daughter's problem and he
promptly disinfected the machine. He said he wasn't going to tell his
daughter about the problem she had, and he asked me not to tell her
about it also. He said she would die from embarrassment if she knew.
Although I disagree with the father's position on this issue, I feel
that I should respect the advice given to me by a parent on how I
should behave with their minor children. Parents who are sincerely
trying to do right deserve a great deal of respect, even if I think
they are sometimes in error.
