about.com has various polls on their home page (http://about.com) and various subdomains, and I've wondered how they prevent multiple voting. Cookies, maybe? With dynamic IP, as is the case with dialup and may be also with DSL and PPPoE, the same IP address at different times can belong to two or more different users. Or the same person could disconnect, reconnect and vote twice with a different IP address the second time.
