BasicLinux is not designed for the average joe on the street.
Nor is Slackware, for that mattter.  Your average joe will
have a powerful computer and will run RedHat (or similar)
with a "user friendly" point-and-click interface.  He will
install .rpm packages using a point-and-click wizard.  No 
problem.

What you mean is:  BasicLinux is not ready for primetime.

The High Priests were all newbies once and had trouble
understanding even the simplest operations.  They climbed
the learning curve, and so can you.
