Neil, Can you find the backup program in Win98 and copy it to the ME machine, possibly RENaming it to "BUW98.EXE (or .COM, or .???)?
If you still have your W98 CD-ROM, it should be on there. (I'll look on the CD-ROM that came with my laptop and see if I can find something.) You might even go to M$'s web site and download it from there. You might also create multi-OS partitions on your machine and [shudder] reinstall W98 into a separate partition.
