Also found a discussion forum there where Nagy Daniel and others
will answer setup and other questions. I'm sure they could help with
the file transfer thing.

Thanks, Sam. I wondered why I couldn't use my account at lonestar anymore
and now I know. Maybe they informed me via a posting that I missed
somehow about switching to a secure shell system from the regular
telnet that worked a year ago when I signed up.

sdf.lonestar.org looks like a great deal in a Unix shell account. Free!
Plus if you pay a one time lifetime fee of $35 you get access to all
kinds of extras, as you mentioned previously.
