I dont see how to offer a different number of screen lines without messing up
the 'typesetting' so that the top of the right hand column lines up with the
end of the bottom of the left hand column.

I tried 43 EGA mode, but sometimes it seems that the screen would go
to 50 line mode anyway; probly a problem with the video rom bios which
was not likely very well tested by the OEM.

And while there certainly may be problems with some low res vga, those
too are getting scarce; I dunno any that are currently sold, and I've seen
SVGA listed for 30$. Likewise, you may still find ISA video cards, but none
of them are VGA either, all SVGA, either PCI or AGP.

If colorized text is useful it will continue to be for quite some time, during
which the already high ratio of SVGA will increase, approaching 100% in a
few more years. And from the standpoint of remote village schools or other
such low income venues, one of the factors I see likely is that the power
needs of the CRT VGA will remain a problem in areas with poor, or no
electric utility, and in that case the extra cost of the SVGA LCD will be seen
as lower than the cost of the extra battery backup or solar panels needed to
meet the much higher wattage of CRT displays.

included in the archive is 'COLOR.BAT', which lists other color codes that
might be used. I'd like to get a round tuit to add a scroll bar menu that would
display color options.
