Oh, I see. :)

In that case it would simply be ..... /dev/digi-cam/photo000.jpg
(after setting-up /dev/digi-cam as a device)

Just as I have setup /dev/hda0 as being the first partition of my HDD
and /dev/hda1 as the second partition etc, etc...
