I never use Arachne from the DOS-box in Win95 to avoid any trouble. So I complained about "Your/My Computer" in Arachne, the first ikon in upper left hand corner after hitting F10. Why I did state the wrong MY or YOUR Computer... I changed the "computer" icon to A:\ icon to avoid the problem and do something usefull with the icon. But... hitting the "\\" still locks-up all three machines. ********************************************************** > 1. After a start up the system is running in DOS only... using the DOS that commes with Win95 (MS 6.22?). To use Win95 I type "win" and the system goes to win95. comp #1 = pentium 1, 2 HD, 1 CD, 1 floppy + external modem on com2 comp #2 = pentium 1, 1 HD, no CD, 1 floppy, PS2 mouse, modem on com1 both with Arachne 1.61 comp #3 = 486, 2 HD, 1 CD, 1 floppy, ext. modem on com2 1.71UE fitted The modem is the same one for all computers and is only used when necessary... terrible interference with amateurradio station. > 2. The troubles were related to alack of memory (when dialing) and that has been solved (thanks list) by installing a smaller mouse, closing Norton first and other memory saving measures. > 4.
