I often have multi-hundred messages to plow through, I've used IE & N both on 'top end' machines, and Arachne is the best way to get rid of crap quickly & easily that I've found. True, with Netscrape etal you can do the CTRL-click to 'batch mark' files for deletion, but one mail message will be loaded to begin with, like it or not ... and it is very time consuming, getting through a list of e-mails when only 5 or 10 message lines can be shown at once. It's crappy, and I'll take Arachne any day. With Arachne I open to the inbox; I go down to the bottom to check the number on the latest message I've kept, I remember it, then I do my mail download. Once everything has been indexed [by date received if one has any brains] it's quite simple to use "/" or F-7 to get to the last old kept message. From there it is right-click on the subject of every message you don't want to even read ... when you get to the bottom of the page it is DEL and "space" to fill the screen again [with hi res that's 11 messages per screen for me], then more right-click with DEL at bottom of screen. I know from experience Arachne allows the fastest and SAFEST way [no mail opened unless you want it opened] of any of the browsers I've had to deal with. The only thing comparable to the ease of handling junk mail with Arachne is some of the web-based mail sites with "select all" and click delete; however, they don't let me scan 10 messages at a time. l.d. -- Arachne V1.71;UE01, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
