Klaus....as far as I can remember....all Arachne versions since
1.50 have had built-in FTP download.  The .APM has not been
required.

...and I am using Arachne 1.71;ue01, "Out-of-the-box" and I just
clicked your URL - ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/unix - and I was taken
straight there....it seems to be a directory with some interesting
"FreeDOS, OpenDOS, etc" subdirectories....which, of course, I am
going to have to come back later to check out.....<g g g>

I am not able to answer that immediately....if your 1.66 (I assume it
is DOS 1.66 and not Linux 1.66) has built-in FTP which is working,
then the built-in 1.71UE01 FTP function should work, too..
